Robert Half Accounting Specialist in Kent, Ohio

Description We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our team in KENT, Ohio. In this role, you will be involved in a wide range of accounting and procurement functions, providing vital support to our business operations. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity, allowing you to grow and develop within our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Attend virtual project kickoff meetings to understand the scope and financial aspects of new projects.

• Request and compare quotes from multiple suppliers for goods and services to ensure cost-effective procurement.

• Issue Purchase Orders to suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.

• Manage the ordering and tracking of office supplies and other miscellaneous goods and services.

• Proactively manage project billing tasks to ensure timely and accurate billing in accordance with project timelines.

• Prepare and submit customer invoices, including specific tasks such as AIA billing.

• Assist with the preparation of lien waivers, maintaining careful records to protect company interests.

• Maintain customer records within the ERP system, ensuring information is up-to-date and accurate.

• Carry out related filing tasks, ensuring all documentation is properly stored and accessible.

• Troubleshoot to resolve routine errors and discrepancies in accounting records, taking corrective action as needed.

• Assist with special projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving skills.

• Adhere to all company safety standards, promoting a safe and respectful workplace.

Skills:

• Proficient in Great Plains (GPAC) and Microsoft Excel.

• Knowledge of Accounting Functions and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Experienced in Billing Functions and handling Purchase Orders.

• Familiarity with Purchasing Functions and AIA Billing.

• Ability to prepare Customer Quotes and Lien Waivers. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Accounting Specialist or similar role

• Proficient in Great Plains (GPAC) and Microsoft Excel

• Demonstrable skills in Accounting Functions and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Previous experience in Billing Functions and handling Purchase Orders

• Knowledge of Purchasing Functions and AIA Billing

• Capability to prepare Customer Quotes and process Lien Waivers

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• CPA or CMA certification is desirable but not required
