Amentum Sr Computer Drafter in Kennedy Space Center, Florida

Perform a wide range of assignments using MicroStation Connect Open Buildings Designer software, ProjectWise, CAD Integrator and Facility Space Management software to maintain space management information. Produce floorplans, room numbering, and facility space information. Field surveys are required to obtain information on all modified and new facilities.

Essential Responsibilities:

Create 3D CADD architectural floorplans of all modified or new facilities. Create red-lined facility sketches from field measurements collected with Laser measuring equipment. Obtain room information to update the Facility Space Management Software (FSMS). Use CAD Integrator to link and publish floor plan drawings. Support the NASA KSC Facility Utilization Officer in plotting floor plans and performing site visits to collect and verify space management information. Review existing room numbers, submit updates to the Facility Space Planner and track and verify proposed changes.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Associate degree or equivalent experience in drafting, designing, construction, or architecture. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Position involves site visits/surveys of various types of facilities to obtain space management information, training classes will be required to enter some of the facilities. Position also involves work typical of office environment, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting with use of a computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents and performing field work, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Some positions involve work in environments (e.g., outside locations, etc.) where mechanical equipment, etc. are being installed, tested, analyzed/monitored, operated, and/or maintained. Equipment may be loud and noisy or have exposed moving components.
