Position Overview: The Director of IT for Clinical Applications is a key position within the technology team, reporting to the executive responsible for application delivery and digital technologies. This role oversees a large team, including several direct reports and technical and business analysts.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, or a STEM-related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressive IT department leadership experience at a mid-senior level.
  • High-level technical understanding of data applications, technologies, platforms, and data solution architecture.
  • Experience with enterprise-level clinical applications in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Certification in relevant areas such as Epic applications, ITIL, business process management, project management (PMP or similar) preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of health information technology laws and regulations.
  • Interact with all levels of management and important outsiders. Requires tact and communication skills to negotiate and influence others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, integrate, design, implement, maintain, and support various information systems for Bronson's clinical operations.
  • Lead Tier 1 critical applications such as Epic EHR, Radiology systems, Laboratory, Oncology, and more.
  • Oversee the portfolio of digital applications and services serving the region's clinical care and access needs.
  • Act as the primary liaison with third-party vendors and external affiliates.
  • Contribute to strategic plans and explore new technologies in clinical operations.
  • Coordinate resources for planning, analysis, building, testing, training, policy/procedures, development, and issue resolution.
  • Improve standards and accountability for application testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution.
  • Manage change control processes to enhance functions, security standards, user experience, and service level requirements.
  • Analyze functionality and constraints of recommended solutions across systems/platforms/applications.
  • Lead project management with the ability to conclude multiple simultaneous assignments satisfactorily.
  • Work with clinical service providers to define metrics and KPIs for service delivery quality and performance.
  • Ensure solution architecture compatibility, interoperability, stability, and usability.
  • Support network information systems, data center operations, interfaces, security administration, disaster recovery, customer services, and IT planning.
  • Oversee fiscal, operational, and human resources management for the areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal and state laws related to health information technology, privacy, security, and other relevant areas.

Establish management control procedures to monitor work volume, efficiency, and service quality.
