Parts Inventory AssociateThe Parts Inventory Associate is responsible for managing and coordinating parts and supply inventory, through cycle counting, investigating inventory discrepancies, and reviewing excess and obsolete inventory, ensuring the correct parts are available when as necessary, maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating with suppliers, and tracking and controlling costs related to parts.The Parts inventory associate reports to the Plant Engineer and works closely with maintenance and production departments, to ensure that parts are available to support their operations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities· Accurately input receiving and storage location data to the Manager Plus system to maintain inventory accuracy.· Ensures the efficient receipt and flow of parts, purchased parts and stock parts to minimize material movement and reduce cycle time.· Maintains clean, orderly and organized shipping-receiving and stockroom areas.· Monitors inventory rotations and makes recommendations as needed.· Purchases parts, quoted work, and emergency requests.· Read shop manuals to ascertain type and specification of part.· Tracking all purchases and receiving all items into main warehouse.· Creates purchase orders for the maintenance Department and monitors/assists with purchase order creation for purchases authorized by other departments.· Scheduled cycle counts and full warehouse inventories to ensure accuracy of recorded on hand part quantities.· Assists technicians with part questions and research as well as part number identification and cross referencing.· Research and identify alternate vendors and identify and negotiate additional services, programs, and pricing with existing vendors to reduce product cost, reduce shipment times, lower freight cost, and improve logistical reach for all purchasing needs.· Drives inventory discrepancy investigations to recover inventory and eliminate root causes of any necessary adjustments (i.e. BOM or consumption errors, transactional discipline, etc.).· Prepare reports, work on special projects, and perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Engineer.· Keep the work area in a clean and orderly condition.· Obtain purchase order from Plant Engineer to order parts for the production machinery.· Compare invoices against requisitions to verify quality and quantity of merchandised received.· Store purchased parts in storeroom bins and deliver parts to technicians upon request.Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.The Parts inventory associate requires to be flexible on work shifts as the business requires.Qualifications· Strong organizational, communication and Self—driven skills.· Good understanding of inventory management principles.· To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
