Job Overview:

To oversee all aspects of the billing/ denials / for the Jersey City Medical Center Oncology Service Line in order to ensure accurate and timely billing.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School/ Vocational High School Graduate or possession of an approved High School Equivalency Certificate

  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience in medical office setting

  • Thorough knowledge of medical terminology such as ICD10 and CPT code

  • Thorough knowledge of modern office methods, practices and equipment and ability to perform confidential and complex clerical tasks

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite

Preferred:

  • Bachelor Degree Preferred

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Shift- 7:00am 3:00pm

  • Monday- Friday

  • Full Time

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for completing/ entering and overseeing the Oncology Service Line billing. This includes daily reconciliation and follow-up on departmental denials within the service line, both inpatient and outpatient

  • Responsible for overseeing Epic work queues, including in-patient and outpatient

  • Responsible for tracking department statistics which includes payer mix, professional revenue, facility revenue, and denial data

  • Responsible for monthly reconciliation of providers' wRVUs.

  • Responsible for providing physicians and office staff with insurance, CMS, and coding guidelines changes

  • Responsible for educating staff regarding gaps of knowledge with coding

  • Manages and delegates tasks to billing coordinator(s) for the Oncology Service Line

  • Monitor all aspects of billing flow and resolve issues impending charges through collaboration with physicians and nursing staff

  • Interact with other disciplines, departments, agencies and insurance companies in a professional manner.

  • Maintain professional relationships will all co-workers.

  • Follow HIPAA Compliance at all times.

  • Maintain and update professional knowledge and proficiency through continuing education, staff meetings, workshops, and serving on special committees.

  • Promote a positive and healthy workplace environment.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Range:

$60k to $65K
