Parsons Corporation Sustainability Manager (Saudi National) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a dedicated and experienced Sustainability Manager to oversee environmental sustainability initiatives for a large-scale infrastructure project. The Sustainability Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to minimize environmental impacts, promote sustainable practices, and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Development and implementation of a sustainability strategy and action plan for the large-scale project, in alignment with project goals, client requirements, and industry best practices.

  • Lead the identification and assessment of environmental risks and impacts associated with the project, including air quality, water quality, noise, biodiversity, and habitat conservation, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and minimize impacts.

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including project teams, regulatory agencies, community groups, and environmental consultants, to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and standards.

  • Conduct environmental assessments, impact studies, and feasibility analyses to evaluate the potential environmental effects of project activities, and recommend mitigation measures and sustainability initiatives to minimize adverse impacts.

  • Develop and implement environmental management plans, pollution prevention plans, and sustainable practices to reduce environmental risks and promote resource conservation, energy efficiency, and waste reduction throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Monitor and track environmental performance indicators, including energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, and waste generation, and prepare regular reports and updates on environmental sustainability progress and achievements.

  • Provide guidance and support to project teams on environmental compliance, sustainability best practices, and environmental management systems, and ensure effective implementation of environmental requirements and initiatives.

  • Coordinate with project teams to incorporate environmental sustainability principles and requirements into project planning, design, construction, and operations, and ensure alignment with client expectations and project specifications.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or related field;

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in environmental sustainability, environmental engineering, or related fields, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations, permits, and standards related to infrastructure projects

  • Experience in conducting environmental assessments, impact studies, and feasibility analyses, and developing environmental management plans and pollution prevention plans for large scale projects.

  • Knowledge of sustainability principles, practices, and frameworks, including LEED, Green Building Standards, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to effectively interact with project teams, regulatory agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify environmental risks and impacts, evaluate mitigation measures, and develop sustainable solutions to complex environmental challenges.

  • Certification in environmental sustainability (e.g., LEED Green Associate, Sustainability Professional) or related field preferred.
