Parsons Corporation Lead Engineer - Mechanical (Wet Utilities) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer-Mechanical to join our dynamic team and play a key role in the successful execution of a major infrastructure construction project. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in mechanical engineering principles and practices, with a proven track record of delivering results on complex projects in the infrastructure sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems for large-scale infrastructure construction projects, such as facility buildings, transportation networks, utilities, and industrial facilities.

  • Manage a team of mechanical engineers, technicians, and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.

  • Perform load calculations, system modeling, and equipment selection to optimize mechanical system performance, efficiency, and constructability.

  • Collaborate with civil, electrical, and structural engineers to integrate mechanical components into the overall infrastructure design and construction plan.

  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and submittals to identify and resolve mechanical design and installation issues.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality control and safety programs for mechanical work on construction sites.

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest mechanical codes, regulations, and industry best practices, and ensure compliance throughout the construction process.

  • Provide technical expertise and support to project managers, general contractors, and facility operators.

  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for the mechanical scope of work.

  • Mentor and train junior mechanical engineers to develop their skills and expertise in infrastructure construction.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

  • 18+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer, with at least 7 years in a lead or supervisory role on infrastructure construction projects

  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems design, installation, and commissioning for large-scale infrastructure projects

  • Strong project management and team leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities

  • Proficient in using engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, HVAC design tools, Revit) and construction management tools

  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Thorough understanding of mechanical codes, regulations, and safety standards applicable to construction projects

  • Experience working with general contractors, subcontractors, and construction managers
