I-Tech Resources CNC Programmer / Setup Machinist in Jacksonville, Florida

Job Description** The CNC Setup Machinist / Programmer is responsible for efficiently programming, setting up, and proving out programs on multi-axis Haas Mills and Haas Lathes (with live tooling and bar-feeder) to support our daily production and prototyping demands. You should be able to edit programs at the machine as well as through CAM software. We use CAMWorks, but other CAM software skills are valued and we will train. You should be comfortable in a sometimes fast-paced prototype environment as well as long series production. We are a close-knit team of engineers and machinists, and we are looking for a senior team member who is both a mentor and a learner. You should be willing and able to share your skills and knowledge, and you should also be open to learning from others. We value a great communicator with a positive attitude to work and life in general.
Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and machine various components using a CNC machine
- Identify machine malfunctions and take corrective action
- Ensure machines run safely and efficiently
- Measure parts with precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure they meet dimensional requirements
- Follow rigorous quality standards and documented procedures
- Use a pallet jack and/or personal strength to lift workpieces
- Maintain, clean, and repair machines as needed
- Assist coworkers in completing daily tasks and meeting deadlines
- Communicate timely updates to supervisor and coworkers to ensure the highest quality and on-time delivery
- Work closely with coworkers and supervisor to ensure safety and quality procedures are maintained and followed
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities, but may grow into supervisory duties in the future.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or higher education, with at least five (5) years of CNC machining, setup, and programming experience
- Computer Savvy
- Ability to operate CNC efficiently and accurately with minimal supervision
- Machinists must have a proven ability to machine a variety of materials, including metals, plastics, and composites, using different machine tools and techniques
- Willingness to take direction and work independently
- Desire to learn other skills throughout the organization
- Some prior experience machining in a production environment
- Knowledge of manual machining (not CNC) a plus
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as product prints, operating and maintenance instructions, safety and quality manuals
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to coworkers and supervisors
- Mathematical skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and the ability to compute percentages
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Working knowledge of the following systems a plus:
SolidWorks 3D CAD SolidWorks CAM / CAMWorks ERP system (we use ProShop) Editing G and M Codes GDandT Experience working in an ISO9000/AS9100 certified shop
