Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Human Resources Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Team Member Relations Manager for Toyota Motor Manufacturing Tennessee (TMMTN).

The primary responsibility is for the management of all Team Member Relations (TMR) functions, including team member relations (including morale activity leadership), sensing and investigations support. Additionally, this position provides operational and strategic support.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources the person in this role will support forward thinking and be proactive in the application of HR practices and policies, including the benchmark of best practices within Toyota at other North American Manufacturing facilities.

This onsite position is based at our manufacturing facility in Jackson, Tennessee. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within commutable distance of this location. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide support and supervision to HR staff. Provide tools to ensure staff can perform their jobs effectively and is provided appropriate feedback and development. This includes mentoring, coaching and provision for ample training opportunities.

  • Ensure appropriate policy development, implementation, communication, and enforcement for TMMTN plant.

  • Lead the development and implementation of positive employee relations strategies.

  • Support processes and systems to provide for the accurate and complete retention of pertinent HR/personnel data, including all systems that TMR interfaces with.

  • Ensure good communications within the group, with members of management and partnership with TMMTN.

What you bring

  • A minimum of three years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Industrial Relations, Business, or closely related field.

  • Understanding of NLRB and labor landscape.

  • Experience with cross functional teams.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills.

  • Understanding of manufacturing and HR functions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously; can coordinate teams of people and give clear direction.

Added bonus if you have

  • Experience within Toyota’s manufacturing casting operations.

  • HR Professional Certification (SHRM, LRI, or HRCI).

  • Creative problem-solving skills.

  • Project management experience.

  • Experience leading and/or managing a team.
