MTC Case Manager in Jacksboro, Texas

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Schedule – Full-Time, 8-hour shifts

Essential Duties:

  1. Review detailed background file and conduct personal interviews to analyze and recommend a program for each assigned offenders; develop and implement service plans to meet offender needs and serve as liaison between offenders, offender families, and service providers.

  2. Initiate and maintain individual personal social development folder on each assigned offender.

  3. Provide direct aid to offenders with personal needs or problems, including sickness, injury, family related issues, and other related personal problems.

  4. Provide continuous educational, vocational, personal and social adjustment counseling on an individual and group basis.

  5. Recommend necessary program modifications throughout each assigned offender's stay.

  6. Assists in coordinating and participating in classification committee meetings; identifies problem areas, service gaps and areas that are barriers to services for offenders.

  7. Provides case management services to include reviews of housing and work assignments, medical restrictions, security needs, time earning status, and custody levels; assists in documenting case records.

  8. Interprets rules, regulations, policies, and procedures and responds to related inquires.

Qualifications:

  • Sixty (60) hours from a college or university accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education (USDE). Major course work in Behavioral Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred. Each year of experience as described below in excess of the required two (2) years may be substituted for thirty (30) semester hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis.

  • Two (2) years full-time, wage-earning correctional custody, law enforcement, offender case management, or correctional unit operations experience required.

  • A valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

  • Must successfully complete annual background checks and in-service training requirements, both of which must be approved by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
