The Data and Compliance Specialist leads the data maintenance and data-related compliance reporting functions of the Office of Institutional Equity and Title IX. This role is tasked with:

  • Maintaining the office's case management systems and working closely with the Title IX and Equity Investigators to ensure information in the case management system is complete and up to date.
  • Analyzing data for trends; developing and running reports on OIETIX data sets, and making recommendations based on that data as appropriate.
  • Working with the OIETIX Team to meet the University's data-related compliance obligations under various laws (including the Clery Act, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Education Law 129-B, et al.).
  • Participating in standing meetings with University partners to present on relevant compliance obligations.
  • Tracking and ensuring University-wide compliance with training and education requirements under state and federal laws.
  • Working closely with the DEI Compliance Consultant to create and update annual Affirmative Action Plans.
  • Working closely with the AVP for Institutional Equity and Title IX, the Title IX Coordinator, the Equal Opportunity Program Coordinator, and the DEI Compliance Consultant to develop and present reports to University stakeholders on a range of topics related to the work of OIETIX.Hours and Location

The OIETIX Data and Compliance Specialist performs this position full-time, Monday through Friday, daytime hours, with somewhat flexible start and end times, and a hybrid schedule of 3 days remote, 2 days on campus in Day Hall, after an initial on campus orientation period. Hours and hybrid set up will be mutually determined between you and your supervisor, and modifiable at the discretion of office and business needs.


What We Need

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2-4 years' relevant experience, or equivalent combination.
  • Strong critical thinking and organizational skills; interest in improving systems to make them more comprehensive, user-friendly, and efficient.
  • Experience in data entry and analysis; Demonstrated ability to learn and effectively utilize data management systems.
  • Solid understanding of and experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of and sensitivity to sociological factors related to disclosures of sexual and related misconduct.
  • Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Ability to process information with a high level of accuracy and to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong experience working in dynamic team environments.
  • Ability to employ structured /methodical approach to all planning/tracking tasks, including the ability to pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy and employ excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle and safeguard sensitive information appropriately.
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure with an emphasis on maintaining discretion and integrity with day-to-day activities and interactions; use judgment in prioritizing the time-sensitivity of various tasks.

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field, such as Computer Science, Human Resources, or Information Systems;
  • Experience developing and updating Affirmative Action Programs, pursuant to Executive Order 11246;
  • Experience using Guardian or Workday; and/or
  • Prior work experience or exposure related to Title VII workplace investigations, Title IX and/or Sexual and Related Misconduct investigations, and/or relevant reporting obligations (i.e., 129-B/Clery compliance requirements).
