As an Account Executive, you will play a crucial role in customer retention strategy and sales growth within the Microsoft Education team. Your mission will be to develop and apply a business offering tailored to the specific needs of public higher education such as universities and research institutions. You will work closely with clients, partners, technical teams, and other stakeholders to achieve your goals.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

  • Initiate Conversations : Start conversations with clients to connect the client’s objectives and Microsoft’s current portfolio within the client account.

  • Support Account Planning : Support account planning and advocate for internal change to help clients transition to modern digital approaches.

  • Lead Executive Escalations : Lead the management of executive escalations and communications for delivery programs in the client account.

  • Proactive Communication : Work with accounts to develop and maintain a support plan. Proactively communicate with accounts regarding product information and programs, support issues, and strategic product plans.

  • Negotiation and Persuasion : Negociate contracts with clients, emphasizing the benefits and solutions offered by Microsoft Education.

  • Maintain Relationships : Maintain effective working relationships with assigned commercial clients. Address specific client needs by proposing tailored solutions.

Qualifications

Required Skills :

  • Stakeholder Engagement : Ability to identify, navigate, communicate, and influence key technical, business, and executive-level stakeholders of the client (including partners).

  • Guide Conversations : Ability to guide and lead conversations to facilitate the achievement of the client’s business objectives by leveraging their investment in Microsoft.

  • Strategic Thinking : Ability to think strategically about client planning for assigned accounts, setting standards and priorities, outlining where and how to invest resources.

  • Mobilize and Coach : Ability to mobilize and coach the account management team and relevant internal stakeholders with deep industry expertise to establish deep partnerships with decision-makers.

  • Manage Relationships : Ability to manage and/or support fundamental relationships with key client stakeholders and technical professionals to enable quality solution delivery and health using partnerships with other account team leaders in collaboration with more experienced colleagues.

  • Sales Skills : You should be able to negotiate, close deals, and meet sales targets.

  • Effective Communication: You must communicate clearly and persuasively with clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Organization and Time Management: Efficiently manage your time and priorities to succeed in this role.
