Penske National Maintenance Manager in Irving, Texas
Penske Logistics is seeking a National Maintenance Manager who is responsible for overall maintenance of the Penske Logistics Fleet and providing direction to field leadership regarding asset and life-cycle management for the Auto Region. This position is responsible for enforcing adherence to the defined maintenance program of equipment, fleet strategy and optimization (tractor, truck, and trailer), policy and procedures, as well as conducting fleet management training for field locations. This role provides metrics and score cards for fuel, maintenance expenses, and asset management cost effectiveness. This position will report directly into the Director of Fleet Operations. This position will be based in Dallas TX or Chicago IL.
Other functions include working with third party vendors, understanding and defining vehicle specifications, basic contract knowledge of terms/conditions and rates. Understanding risk and liabilities as it pertains to terms and conditions of vehicle leases and maintenance contracts.
On an ongoing basis, provide cost management expertise to continually drive costs out of the operations (cost management) and improve profitability along with managing equipment disposal strategies to maximize gain on sale.
This position will support a Day Shift, Monday to Friday, but must be flexible to support business
Up to 50% travel requirement

Responsibilities:
Work with PTL and third-party vendors to manage maintenance expenses/cost mitigation. Ensure billing is accurate and in accordance with terms of vendor contracts.
Manage and direct fleet strategy, sourcing and deployment of equipment
During new customer launches, lead development of equipment strategy, planning and implementation and start-up.
Maintain centralized view of fleet activities from all sources (3rd party, Penske leased, owned)
Regularly schedule and attend Fleet reviews, provide direction on specific opportunities and activities to improve fleet efficiencies and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Preferred membership of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) certification
Minimum of 5 years Fleet Asset Management experience with experience leading teams and managing process required.
Penske Truck Leasing Maintenance experience preferred
Strong analytical and presentation skills, written/oral communication and organizational skills are required
Knowledge of financial principles and practices is required
Successful track record of building relationships with stakeholders, customers, and vendors that have resulted in high customer satisfaction is required
Ability to problem solve in a creative manner is required
High-level knowledge of equipment specifications, pricing, and fleet analytics methodology and standards is required
Excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to multi-task and manage projects from start to finish
Ability to work with all levels of the company and have excellent presentation skills
Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
