Nexstar Media Group Lead Accounts Receivable Analyst in Irving, Texas

This position will help supervise a team of Accounts Receivable Analysts for a designated team of specific markets supported by the Dallas Shared Services Hub. The Team Lead will provide support, training, and mentoring to the AR Analysts making up their teams. The Team Leads will have dotted line authority of the Analysts comprising their markets and will assist the Senior AR Manager in the completion of performance appraisals for their teams. The Team Leads are the initial point of contact for escalations in their markets ensuring that the Analysts are processing all payments (Lockbox, Credit Card, and ACH) on a timely basis (within 24 hours of receipt). The Team Leads must supervise the analysts to ensure Credit Adjustments are being processed timely upon receipt, aging’s are being reviewed and cleaned, and all billing is done within established deadlines. The AR Team Leads will be an integral part of the hiring process for their markets and will be the lead in training and mentoring all new hires within their team. Oversee the timely and accurate completion of co-op at month end, helping to ensure timely and accurate billing. The Team lead will be the backup for all their markets assisting in ensuring timely completion of all the market’s daily activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Position supervises, trains, and mentors Accounts Receivable Analysts comprising their markets.

Responsible for integrating Accounts Receivable functions for newly acquired markets.

Helps develop and monitor key business metrics for their Analysts and Teams, identifying and communicating risks and opportunities to management.

Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley. In regard to audit requests for their markets, the position will work closely with the Senior AR Manger who is the point of contact for internal and external audit.

Oversees the accurate daily cash receipt application of customer payments (Lockbox, Credit Cards, ACH) for their teams, often assisting Analysts or acting as backup.

Responsible for reviewing aging’s and ensuring the Analysts are reviewing and cleaning their aging’s prior to the collection meetings. Sits in on monthly aging meetings to understand current issues being confronted by the stations (rotating basis). Uses the information gathered in the calls, to improve processes and identify issues within their markets.

In addition to above, ensures the ongoing review by Analysts and the stations of the accounts receivable aging’s in an effort to drive a focus on minimizing the number of past due accounts. Ensures that prepayments are being applied properly and, on a timely basis, ensuring that cash in advance accounts are not carrying balances.

Acts as the lead in helping to resolve more complex billing issues and helping to research and resolve issues that are brought to the attention of Accounts Receivable by the stations.

Assists station sales staff and customers when questions arise. Position is required to work closely with and provide high quality customer service to customers and sales.

Helps ensure timely and accurate broadcast and calendar month end billings in paper and electronic formats.

Supervises co-op billing being done within their markets, ensuring the AR Analysts are properly trained, are following the proper procedures, ensuring timely processing, and verifying the scanning of processed co-op to the shared drive.

Assist in the development and maintenance of an Accounts Receivable Policies & Procedures Manual.

Performs other management requests and related duties as required.

Requirements of position

Degree in Accounting or Management (Associates or Bachelors, preferred).

Preferred a minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounts receivable or general accounting.

Strong PC skills using MS Office, Excel, and server-based systems.

OSi and/or Wide Orbit experience is a plus.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.

Proactive, high attention to detail, able to operate in a fast-based environment

Team player with exceptional oral/written communications skills.

Highly customer focused.
