Liberty Healthcare Corporation Review Specialist – heath care and human services (remote within Indiana) in IN, United States

Due to organizational growth, Liberty Healthcare is now hiring for multiple new “Mortality Review Specialist” positions.

Liberty Healthcare endeavors to empower people who are living with intellectual and developmental disabilities, so they may live, love, work, learn, play, and pursue their dreams.

In a collaborative partnership with the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, Liberty Healthcare provides quality assurance for Home and Community-Based Services (HBCS) waivers for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

Services include incident and complaint investigations and reporting; mortality reviews, continuous quality management; HCBS provider oversight, technical assistance, and supports to help Indiana become an employment first state.

As a Mortality Review Specialist with Liberty Healthcare, the downstream impact of your work will contribute to the advancement of systemic quality improvement initiatives that positively impact the health and well-being of a significant number of older adults and people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will primarily involve reviewing myriad source documents related to the death and preceding medical care and health conditions of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Processing ‘death of person’ incident reports

  • Analyzing, organizing, electronically filing / entering data into databases

  • Generating reports

  • Participating in team meetings

  • Identifying and escalating occurrences of abuse, neglect, and exploitation

  • Communicating with collateral contacts

This position comes with a high degree of autonomy and will allow you to work remotely from your home office.

As a full-time employee of Liberty Healthcare in this role, you can expect:

  • Salary range of $48,000 to $52,000 (depending on experience)

To qualify for this position, you must have a Bachelor’s degree and also have health care or human service experience.

You should have outstanding organizational, analytical, time management, computer, problem solving, and communication skills. An ability to work independently and with a high level of ambiguity is essential.

Specific experience related to healthcare information, quality assurance, utilization review, investigations, mortality review, and / or services for people who have disabilities is preferred but not required.
