Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Production Engineering, Powertrain Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Seibi Technician.

The primary responsibility of this position is to execute as the North American machine set-up personnel (SV), and increase Operation Availability (OA) through continuous improvement and problem-solving technical issues.

Reporting to the TMNA Engineering Manager of TMMAL Satellite, the person in this role will support the Powertrain department's objective to execute Capital Projects from planning through Start of Production (SOP)

What you’ll be doing

  • Participate in project planning for Seibi with PE

  • Make detailed Seibi master schedules that align with PE master schedules for project work

  • Develop & manage denwacho for equipment modifications and commissioning process

  • Technical Support for equipment modifications, installation, and commissioning efforts.

  • Lead effective communication with Mgr. and Seibi team lead that require resolutions

  • Evaluate Seibi task for safety using JSA’s and denwacho for activity.

  • Perform “hands-on” Seibi tasks to complete work objectives

  • Perform manufacturing equipment maintenance troubleshooting support, programming, equipment set-up, and safety certification checks

What you bring

  • High School Graduate

  • Technical associate degree or equivalent training such as a vocational certificate or a minimum of 5 years high volume manufacturing maintenance experience

  • Experience with manufacturing such as spindle machines, leak testers, robots, automatic high-volume processing machines, assembly machines, or similar

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • PLC programming experience including the ability to read, interpret, and modify

  • Experience with input/output (Andon and Interlocking) for machine-to-machine communication

  • Ability to support weekends, off shift, and holidays as needed

  • Ability to work the two production shutdown times of the year in July and December

  • Ability for business travel, both domestic and international will be up to 25%

  • Ability for business travel to other North American sites to support future projects

  • Able to motivate T/M’s in a team environment

  • Skilled in gathering and analyzing quality data

Added bonus if you have

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • Previous Team Leader experience

  • Solid presentation skills to a vast array of audiences (Sr. Mgt, Plant President, Group Leaders, Team Members, Vendors, etc.)

  • Understanding of Production Processes including Standardized Work (STW) and Job Instruction Sheets (JIS)

  • 1-2 years of new model launch experience

  • TBP Panel Completion or Six Sigma Black Belt
