We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Project Manager in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for executing and following up complex shipping operations, interacting with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, and coordinating complex shipping schemes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide transport cost and man-hours estimation and reports, monitors budget vs. project execution.

• Define methods and means of Transportation in agreement with Project Procurement Manager.

• Plan and revise shipping strategy.

• Supervise handling operations for special items.

• Prepare and issue specifications Invitation to Bid Negotiation documents and Service Orders.

• Assign shipments to Forwarding Agents out of Service Orders.

• Contact suppliers and coordinate pick-up operations based on the loading/shipping plan for each shipment.

• Issue or coordinate the issue of import-export documentation together with the Administration Department when necessary.

• Issue and update the Shipping Notice to the various parties involved and send a separate set of shipping documents to the field.

• Improve and/or modify standard procedures.

Requirements • Demonstrated experience in project management

• Proficiency in office functions and operations

• Proven ability to plan, organize and coordinate projects

• Solid understanding of documentation and procedure development

• Experience in budgeting and finance processes

• Familiarity with Human Resources (HR) administration

• Strong knowledge of logistics and supply chain management

• Experience in dealing with vendors and suppliers, including negotiation and procurement

• Background in engineering methods and construction

• Ability to execute plans and strategies

• Experience in shipping and transportation services

• Knowledge of buying processes and agreement coordination

• Understanding of specifications in procurement processes

• Proficiency in using ProFile or similar project management software.
