Hunton Distribution, a division of Hunton Group (http://www.huntongroup.com/) in Houston, TX has a new and exciting opportunity for you to join our organization as a Procurement Specialist. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of products, materials, and services, ensuring the company meets its cost, quality, and delivery objectives. The role is pivotal in maintaining effective supply chain management and supporting the sourcing and stocking strategies implemented by the Product & Sourcing Manager.

Responsibilities:
Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best possible pricing and terms.
Grow and maintain vendor relationships and develop stock strategy with a variety of suppliers.
Maintain the Product and Sourcing Team's position as the center of excellence and product knowledge experts for both stocked product lines and non-stock special order capabilities.
Identify, quote, sell, and fulfill special-order products.
Collaborate with internal departments, including Purchasing, Inside Sales, Counter Sales, Outside Sales, and Warehouse teams to ensure customer satisfaction and increase revenue.
Lead product training efforts within all HD branches.
Collaborate with the purchasing department to monitor and modify stock levels.
Track orders and ensure timely delivery of products to meet operational needs.
Create, implement, and maintain store merchandising design and product planograms.
Assist in product cataloging and promotional efforts.
Assist in training and customer onboarding with HD self-serve tools (eStore, ComfortSite, etc.)
Manage and process purchase orders in alignment with internal policies.
Resolve supply chain issues such as delivery delays or product quality concerns.
Maintain procurement records, including supplier contracts, invoices, and order logs.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency.
Other duties may be assigned.
Skills Required:
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Attention to detail and the ability to analyze data and trends.
Knowledge of HVAC products and industry (preferred).
Experience with purchasing software or ERP systems (preferred).
Education and/or Experience Required:
Associate or bachelor's degree (preferred).
3-5 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably within the HVAC industry.
