The role is to architect, design, review and deploy infrastructural elements of Cloud based solutions such as SaaS, PaaS and IaaS environments in support of business requirements and to ensure the stability and integrity of all current Cloud deployments.

Key responsibilities include designing infrastructural architectural components and reviewing new Cloud based Services as they are released, in support of high-level technical and business requirements. Additionally, Standing up additional governance and processes to support rapid deployment of various resources serving different business, security and technical needs would also be part of the job scope.

As Lead Principal Technologist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing templatized designs and approaches (Infrastructure as a code) for Cloud based deployments in fulfilling technical and business objectives and service processes.

  • Ensuring deployment frameworks are updated and aligned with the operational models for the various functions, including Policies and RBAC management.

  • Ensuring adequate mechanisms are in place to allow for accurate monitoring and statistical information to be produced.

  • Practicing Cloud based best practices, including high availability standards, align with the latest stable feature set to drive operational efficiencies.

  • Ensuring that regular maintenance of related documentation and technical specifications are kept up to date.

  • Performing solution audits, patching, system backups and recovery as required or in conjunction with needs of the business.

  • Providing timely design, implementation and support services for global infrastructure projects/systems to meet business objectives.

  • Providing user base and departmental training wherever applicable. Facilitate skills transfer sessions to others within the IT Tech Ops Team.

  • Designing and iterate structural management groups where policies and permissions are managed.

  • Deploying or migrate accounts/subscriptions and resources based upon agreed designs.

  • Integrating and assist in maintaining on-premises/cloud virtualized network infrastructure based upon agreed SDDC designs.

  • Conducting research on Cloud best practices and standards to remain abreast of developments in the Cloud world. Propose new technologies and/or enhance existing ones to increase business benefit or mitigate risk.

  • Experiencing in deploying infrastructure as a code and use of associated tooling.

  • Continuously update and improve upon Cloud deployment templates and practices and adhere to change control approaches when applying them to existing resources.

  • Maintaining a high standard of security ensuring that Cloud based resources are secure from internal and external threats including risk identification and escalation.

  • Ensuring that business continuity and security form an integral part of all deployments.

  • Providing input to existing approaches to automate wherever possible.

  • Form, build and maintain collaborative working relationships with all IT team members to understand their requirements and to ensure that a high level of service is provided always.

  • Building relationships with internal Project Managers/Stakeholders to gather requirements and specifications for providing solutions to problems, projects and to support them.

  • Acting as mentor and coach to wider IT team members, promoting best practices and approved procedures to best support the business.

We're looking for:

  • Minimum of 5+ years working with public and private Cloud environments (Azure/AWS preferred)

  • Working knowledge of various PaaS/SaaS services that runs in Azure, primarily WVD, Key-vaults, SQL and other infrastructural components.

  • Prior working experience in IT infrastructural work and concepts, including working knowledge of virtualized network, routing and segmentation.

  • Communicate and present at all levels, including senior management.

  • Work with high security privileges and the responsibilities that entail.

  • Have a proven track record in delivering process improvement projects on operational systems, including ensuring that proper documentation and other delivery requirements are met so that the improvements can be globally supported by the global Ops teams.

  • Azure Public Cloud experience (5+ years minimum). Understanding of Infrastructure as a code and working knowledge of the various PaaS/SaaS services from these providers.

  • Working knowledge of VMWare and Hyper-V on-premises deployments as well as SDDC and hybrid cloud concepts.

Good to have Skills:

  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and advanced troubleshooting skills across the following technologies (listed in priority):

  • Deployment and Administration knowledge would be beneficial as well as understanding the SaaS service hooks that they have with Cloud resources.

  • AWS Public Cloud working experience and understanding of various services and practices.

Desirable Certifications and knowledge:

Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals

Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator/Security Engineer

Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect

AWS Cloud Practitioner

AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate

Related VMWare and Hyper-V certifications would be beneficial.

Salary Range:

$130,400.00 - $217,400.00

This pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation that the position offers, and final compensation can vary within the range depending on work location, job experience, skills, and relevant educational attainment and/or training.
