Responsibilities

Chaplain Residents provide pastoral care to patients, families, and staff; they also participate in the curriculum of the Clinical Pastoral Education program. This position helps the hospital to fulfill two of its primary missions ‐ patient care and education.

ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Supports patients, families and staff to ensure that both their personal and spiritual needs are met while in the hospital.

  2. Provides in‐house, on‐call coverage on a 24‐hour, 7 day a week basis by responding to all codes, deaths and other emergencies.

  3. Provides leadership for worship services to help ensure that the worship needs of patients, families and staff are met.

  4. Provides sacramental ministry to patients, families and staff.

  5. Develops and maintains professional relationships with members of the hospital staff in order to ensure that the Clinical Pastoral Education program is integrated into the hospital.

  6. Acts as a liaison for patients, staff and community clergy to fulfill the department's public relations commitment.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree and a Master of Divinity degree. ( Exceptions are made on a case basis.)

**This position requires a 12‐month commitment to the CPE Center.

Pay Range

$15.65 - $15.65 /hour
