Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Houston, Texas
Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity in Houston, Texas for an Accounts Payable Specialist. This role primarily involves maintaining and auditing the account payable functions within our organization, which operates in the industry. This position requires an individual who is proficient in accounting software systems and has a solid understanding of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Responsibilities:
• Accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications
• Regular monitoring and managing of customer accounts
• Resolving customer inquiries in a timely and detail oriented manner
• Performing account coding and maintaining accurate customer credit records
• Utilizing Excel for tasks such as creating pivot tables and executing VLOOKUP functions
• Ensuring adherence to accrual accounting principles
• Conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Managing transactions through the Automated Clearing House (ACH)
• Utilizing Sage Intacct for various accounting functions Requirements • Proficiency in Account Coding is essential, as the role involves categorizing and assigning codes to financial transactions.
• Familiarity with Accounting Software Systems is required to effectively manage and organize financial data.
• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems is necessary for streamlining and integrating various business processes.
• Understanding of Accounting Functions is vital to maintain the financial health of the organization.
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is crucial for managing and reconciling all payable accounts.
• Mastery of Accrual Accounting principles is needed to record revenues and expenses when they are incurred, irrespective of when cash is exchanged.
• Proficiency in Auditing is required to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards and regulations.
• Knowledge of Automated Clearing House (ACH) is important for managing electronic transactions and fund transfers.
• Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software is preferred, as it is used for financial management and reporting within the organization.
