Moffatt and Nichol has an opening for a Structural Associate III in Honolulu, HI. Job duties include: Design a wide variety of structures. Resolve design problems. Perform field investigations and inspections. Design detailed plans and conduct structural analyses. Perform nonlinear structural finite element analyses and use computer coding to document and organize results in a presentable format. Requires a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, and three (3) years of related work experience. Requires 3 years of experience in the following occupation: Engineering Technologists and Technicians or related occupations. Experience must include the following: Structural design software such as: SAP2000, MathCAD, Abaqus, CSIBridge and LARSA 4D; Performing structural calculations, and designing and detailing concrete and steel vertical and lateral systems in high seismic zones; Reinforcing scanning and measuring dimensions for bridge load ratings; Using Excel VBA and Python programming languages; and Developing analysis models which require 3-dimensional spatial geometric modeling with nonlinear material behavior and time dependent effects.
