  • Position Summary*

Hawaiian Airline’s dedication to safety is unparalleled, and as the company grows, more personnel are needed to ensure that we are flying the safest airline possible. With the implementation of the company-wide Safety Management System (SMS), we now have a more data-driven approach to safety, combined with a Just Culture and robust reporting environment. The Analyst will be report to the Senior Manager of Flight Division Safety Programs and will be responsible for the collection and analysis of statistical data pertinent to flight safety, as well as supporting the Senior Manager with SMS processes. The Analyst will also assist with data compilation and analysis concerning safety programs outside of SMS (such as FRMP), and organization of data for and during audits.

  • Key Responsibilities*

  • Conduct analysis using quantitative tools and techniques to support the SMS process, and for reporting to the Safety Review Board

  • Manage the input and update of data for Flight Division safety programs (outside of SMS)

  • Manage the input and update of data for several initiatives and from multiple departments

  • Create reports and presentations for senior leadership

  • Generate the Safety Review Board information packet

  • Perform analysis of data to identify adverse trends, verify effectivity of corrective measures, and identify potential for performance degradation

  • Develop expertise in analyses focusing on specialized functions

  • Analyze and interpret data for use in management reviews and decisions

  • Responsible for day-to-day SMS, as described in the safety analyst’s role in the SMS Manual

  • Provide data and content for Safety Promotion

  • Maintains the division’s Risk Register and Action Log

  • Monitors performance of department safety objectives

  • Support the Senior Manager, Flight Division Safety Programs, as required

  • Other Duties as assigned or directed

  • Minimum Requirements*

  • Associate’s degree, or prior experience in lieu of degree

  • 2 years of related experience

  • Strong data gathering and analysis skills

  • Must be a highly motivated individual that requires minimal supervision

  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills

  • Must have the ability to drive for results in a cross-functional team environment

  • Strong proficiency in Excel

  • Capacity to learn in-house data analysis tools

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management

  • Ability to make recommendations based on data and analysis

  • Able to travel domestically and internationally
