Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has an immediate opening for an Infrastructure Delivery – Network Technician. We are currently expanding our Infrastructure Operations team in AWS and are looking for a highly-motivated Network Technician to join our growing team at data center site.
Mission of Infrastructure Delivery (ID) is to deliver network capacity on time. ID team collaborates with other Data Center and Networking teams to scale and prepare network infrastructure capacity. ID team members are responsible for installing and delivering our network equipment and related infrastructure.
ID Network Technician will work closely with both internal stakeholders and external vendors on network scaling and cabling project implementation. The ideal candidate should be autonomous, detail-oriented, possess strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in enterprise class network infrastructure.
This position will provide the opportunity to participate in and contribute to the delivery of next-generation networks in AWS data centers. You are expected to work with established and continuously-improving best practices, and to constantly think and act proactively. The desire and ability to work in an ambiguous and collaborative environment is essential for success.
Key job responsibilities
Implement projects according to assigned priorities
Verify project requirements in terms of infrastructure capacity, materials, resources required and lead time
Prepare scope of work and request for quote for bid analysis
Manage vendor to implement cabling and hardware installation work
Comply with change management policies and guidelines for project activities
Build network devices and troubleshoot issues with engineers
Assure project quality on deliverables for handoff to operations
Update project progress, and escalate risks and blockers to stakeholders
Adhere to safety and security standards for all tasks
Keep updated with latest process and design changes
Contribute to process improvement initiatives
Support training and development in procedures and technical knowledge

Basic Qualifications
1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
1+ years of computer networking experience
High school or equivalent diploma
Knowledge of TCP/IP networks
Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of data center experience
Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or other related majors
Certification in CCNA or JNCIA or higher level, also possess understanding of major Command Line Protocols and common Networking Protocols
Experience working in a redundant data center and network architecture, or in installation, provisioning and migration of network hardware; preferrably in troubleshooting for networking, routing and interconnectivity issues
Experience in project implementation, ticketing and workflow management systems, dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressurem and possess knowledge of IT best practice framework and process improvement
