Polar Tank Trailer LLC Quality Control Technician in Holdingford, Minnesota

Description THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITION, 2 PM-MIDNIGHT POSITION SUMMARY: Conduct inspections of fabricated parts, purchased materials, assemblies, and finished products to ensure they meet customer specifications and engineering design standards. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Work on all scheduled workdays, including weekends and overtime as needed. Adhere to all PPE requirements at all times and maintain a focus on safety, examining materials and products for surface defects like cracks, pits, and incomplete welds. Compare products with drawings, BOMs, or sample models to confirm accurate assembly completion. Inspect raw materials, purchased parts, manufactured components, assemblies, and finished products to verify they meet design specifications, including material type, dimensions, and other key criteria. Record any product, component, or assembly non-conformances in inspection reports, hold tags, and scrap tags. File and maintain quality control records, including sales orders, inspection reports, and photos. Interpret engineering drawings and collaborate with operations and engineering teams to determine quality and reliability standards. Follow established protocols for addressing nonstandard deviations in processes or materials. Complete and submit required daily and weekly paperwork and reports. Provide training and support to other employees as assigned. Perform additional duties as assigned. SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Commitment to a safety-first culture, prioritizing safety in all tasks. Basic computer skills, with proficiency in XA and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes and procedures. Strong knowledge of materials, parts, tools, equipment, procedures, and the manufacturing process. Effective oral and written communication skills. Basic problem analysis and resolution skills. Strong team collaboration skills. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma, GED or combination of education, technical training and experience in manufacturing and quality. Three years' applicable experience minimum related to testing and inspection as required by CFR 49 171.8. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shops and other mandatory safety equipment. For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Sitting or standing as needed. Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching, pushing, pulling or lifting as required within limits set by Entrans International LLC.
