The Hilton Central School District has a vacancy for a 1.0 Teaching Assistant in the Alternative Learning Center at Merton Williams Middle School. Experience in similar area preferred. Consideration will be given to candidates with the ability to communicate and work collaboratively as a member of a team. The Alternative Learning Center Supervisor's responsibilities are, but not limited to:
Capitalize on academic learning for students
Supervise students who have been assigned to the room
Support lessons taught by content-area teachers
Communicate clearly with teachers, families and administrators
Provide a safe environment by implementing restorative practices
Assist in the implementation of social, emotional and behavioral support for students
Be responsive to school needs as identified by school administration
Work toward a prevention model that encourages students to engage in their academics
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
