Our Electron Microscopy business enables customers to find meaningful answers to questions that accelerate breakthrough discoveries, increase efficiency, and ultimately change the world. The EM business designs, manufactures, and supports the broadest range of high-performance microscopy workflows that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales.

How will you make an impact?

You will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the support of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Americas sales efforts at specific customer sites.

What will you do?

  • Perform high quality TEM product demonstrations, including the development of new techniques and applications for Thermo Fisher Scientific partners and customers, particularly those in the Materials Science marketplace.

  • Conduct customer training and translate customer needs into workable solutions.

  • Technical product guide assisting with all phases of the sales cycle.

  • Cultivate positive customer relationships and acting as a high-level customer interface for specific instrument/applications issues, explaining advanced technology details, giving in depth technical presentations, and assisting in applications development.

  • Customer support and applications training post sales cycle and after instrument has been installed.

  • Provide continuous feedback to the product groups on system performance, features, and potential problems while collaborating with marketing/development groups on future product developments.

How Will You Get Here?

  • University degree in Materials Science, Physics or Chemistry is required. An advanced degree is preferred.

  • Knowledge and recent hands-on experience with TEM are required.

  • 5 years of experience in a relevant position within the research environment with recent experience using Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM).

  • Strong interest in aberration-corrected TEM would be a plus.

  • Knowledge of advanced technology diagnostics as well as troubleshooting techniques, operational optimization, and experience of analytical equipment.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills tailored for a diverse audience are essential for this position.

  • Proven track record to work well with cross-functional and cross-cultural diverse teams.

  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally (up to 50%), possession of a valid passport.
