The position of Substitute Custodial Worker:
This is work of a routine nature which primarily involves the cleaning of the interior of buildings and related building fixtures and equipment but may involve cleaning of building exteriors as well as grounds immediately adjacent. Employees in this class work under direct supervision, or in accordance with a specific schedule, and do not supervise others. Does related work as required. Work may be assigned throughout the district as this is a substitute position.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
Dusts, sweeps, washes, strips and waxes floors;
Washes windows, walls, tables, toilet and lavatory facilities, etc.;
Cleans light fixtures and replaces burned out bulbs;
Collects and disposes of refuse; distributes supplies and moves furniture;
Assists in building maintenance work;
May cut grass, sweep walks, shovel snow and other occasional outside work;
May operate a school bus or van on an incidental or substitute basis if appropriately trained and licensed.
The salary is $18.00 per hour.
Job Qualifications
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Working knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment; ability to understand and follow simple directions; ability to read English.
MINIMUM OUALIFICATIONS:
No formal education, training or experience is required.
