Air Force Materiel Command Supervisory Recreation Specialist (Arts and Crafts) in Hill AFB, Utah

Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Arts and Crafts Center at Hill AFB, UT. This is a Regular Full Time (RFT) position with a guaranteed minimum of 35 hours weekly, and with benefits (medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, 401(k), and annual/sick leave). Recruitment and Retention Incentives may be authorized Responsibilities Serves as the Manager of Arts and Crafts Center which provides detailed custom work, training classes and on-the-spot customer assistance to stimulate initiatives, skills, talents, and interest of the base community. Responsible for the planning, supervising, directing, budgeting, and evaluating the functions of a multipurpose operation consisting of but not limited to, framing, engraving, sublimation, vinyl printing, photo printing, custom resale, and classes. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinate sections, oversees work, and evaluates work performance. Resolves complaints from employees and customers. Takes disciplinary and corrective action as required. Develops performance standards for quality, safety, and rates employees. Recommends awards and performance bonuses. Interviews, hires, trains, schedules, and disciplines employees. Prepares annual budgets for both APF and NAF. Responsible for over daily cash transactions, purchases, inventories, daily cash deposits, and supporting paperwork. Determines contractor performed work that meets the statement of work for authorization of payment. Participates in base exercises and inspections as required to ensure security and safety standards are met. Determines the need and assists with the development of facility upgrades, renovation, and maintenance and repair projects. Recommends and analyzes fee proposals. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must be familiar with budgeting, cash controls over all assets, purchasing procedures, safety, sanitation, bio/environmental and HAZMET procedures. Must possess knowledge of computer graphics to assist customers. Must be able to plan and organize programs and classes in arts and crafts, and/or fine arts. Desirable qualifications include relevant experience in arts and crafts or project management. Additional experience working in a military or community arts and crafts center is advantageous. Must have strong customer service skills, supervisory experience, and financial management abilities. Must have verbal and written skills. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1Level) is required. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
