Actalent Mechanical Engineer in High Point, North Carolina

As a Catia Designer, you will support new technologies and mass production developments by generating innovative technical ideas, maturing concepts designs, and drawings to meet established specifications and guidelines. Your key purpose will be maintaining high quality and customer satisfaction, primarily in the Power Products category. You will guide or establish the generation of high-level drawings representing key technologies that meet specification targets. Using these drawings, you will facilitate the prototype generation, engineering estimates, supplier negotiations, factory assembly confirmations, and finally mass production specification setting. You will also support on-site activities such as prototype builds and collaborate with research members to understand test-related concerns and implement countermeasures to design. You will communicate project status, participate in project meetings, discussions, and development events. Lastly, you will establish bills of materials to track impacts of new technologies, features, and components to guarantee project team cost targets are maintained.

  • 2D/3D CAD Software (Catia)

  • FTA/FMEA

  • Drawing Issue Processing (Endeavor)

  • Key Design Calculations (Gear, Spring, FEA, Tolerance Stacks)

  • Problem-solving methods

  • Creating a plan and schedule

  • Understanding product development schedules

  • BS Engineering

  • 5+ years of strong Catia design experience

  • Tolerance Stack ups

  • FEA

  • stress analysis

  • running calculations

  • DFMEA-Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis

  • FMEA/FTA

  • Electrical experience

  • New product Development

  • Strong modeling experience

Soft Skills

  • Strong ability to work well within small development teams

  • Ability to interact/communicate effectively with staff/management

  • Ability to operate with high level of confidentiality

  • Competent analytical, problem solving, judgement, decision-making and prioritization skills
