The Director of Sales is a sales leadership role that manages direct selling to key strategic customers as well as provides strategic direction and leadership to our Southeast, Midwest and West Regions that includes three direct Regional Sales Managers and their broker partners. Responsibility and oversight of our Southeast, Midwest and West Customer base which includes Aldi, Kroger, Publix, Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Grocery Outlet, Stater Brothers, and Save Mart. Also responsible for all the strategic planning and communication of results for assigned territory. This position is the liaison between CFG and its customers in order to enhance and deepen customer relationships. Sales Coaching, Planning & Execution Responsible for the sales, profitability, and volume of CFG's Value Added Pork across our retail portfolio, which includes Bacon, Ham, Marinated Pork, Sausage, Deli Ham, Fully Cooked Sausage and our Specialty Flow Fresh Pork in our Expansion Region. Accountable over a team that proactively seeks sales opportunities for new business and growing existing business across the territory. Prioritize Clemens Food Groups Brands with the ability to coach and teach the ability to prospect large Private Brand/Own Brand Opportunities. Plans and assists with the development of sales proposals and sales presentations. Assists in selecting and establishing broker relationships to increase distribution of our retail portfolio. Collaborates and approves the execution of key programs based on retailers' needs and requirements (growth funds, account specific marketing programs, etc.). Utilize syndicated data and all resources to assist in driving new customer sales plans for the assigned territory. Regularly review performance and KPIs within the territory to ensure we are on track to budget/plan metrics. Ensure the territories customer activities and communication into CRM are logged. Collaborate with VP of Retail Sales on Annual Budgeting Process. Approve the Expansion Region's Trade plan to ensure trade dollars are being spent efficiently. Maintain and Increase Existing Business Proactively seek sales opportunities to grow existing business and maintain higher level relationships across the territory. Meets directly with key decision makers at existing accounts to maintain and increase sales of Clemens Food Group products. Identifies threats and opportunities in the categories that we compete in that could affect sales volume, market share, trade efficiencies and profitability to Clemens Food Group. Qualifications

Education Bachelors (required)

Experience 8 years: Minimum of 8 years of experience selling at Headquarter Level of Retail Trade.  Proven record of leading a high performing sales team. Must understand the dynamics of the Retail Meat industry and have the ability to sell into Corporate Retail Departments within Fresh, Packaged Meat, Deli, Frozen and Prepared Foods.  (required) Must have a solid understanding of customer focused and fact based selling, including IRI, Nielsen and Perishable Group data. High level of written and verbal communication skills, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability. Strong Negotiation Skills. Ability to Travel 25% of the time.  (required)
