Aerotek Electromechanical Assembler in Halethorpe, Maryland

Job Description

Mechanical assemblers are responsible for assembling parts and subassemblies to create machinery or mechanical products. They work in a manufacturing environment, either on a production line or in a workshop or factory setting. Their duties can vary depending on the products they assemble, but may include:

  • Preparing work: Reading and understanding assembly instructions, specifications, parts lists, blueprints, diagrams, and engineering drawings

  • Positioning parts: Following instructions and drawings to position parts correctly

  • Assembling components: Mechanically fastening parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools

  • Verifying specifications: Measuring completed sections to ensure they meet specifications

  • Testing machinery: Making sure machinery is working as expected and documenting their findings

  • Calibrating equipment: Adjusting and calibrating machines such as drill presses, lathes, and milling machines, as well as subassemblies like motor assemblies and circuit boards

Work Environment

This role operates in a controlled work environment with a consistent temperature. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with potential overtime and occasional weekend work. You will have a personal workbench and can work comfortably seated.
