About you and this role:

The Reliability Engineer facilitates development of the business/facility maintenance strategy, and solves reliability and availability losses through application of reliability technology and tools to enable the plant to meet its business plan and strategy. You will focus on those opportunities that over a long-term period or historically have impacted the plant’s measured asset capability and the opportunities identified as "high-risk" in risk assessments, reliability models and other evaluations. This role requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and broadens capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading Setting of and Achievement of plant Reliability targets.

  • Understanding the purpose and technical details of the equipment in the facility to properly define the optimized reliability strategy for critical equipment.

  • Developing and implementing the Facility Reliability Strategy.

  • Serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for equipment prioritization.

  • Identifying and collaborating with others to resolve Top Reliability Opportunities.

  • Facilitating the annual maintenance budget setting process and tracking project and spending progress.

  • Performing critical Root Cause Investigations.

  • Creating Equipment Reliability Strategies based upon Top Plant Opportunities.

  • Working with others to provide front end loading for plant Turnarounds.

  • Facilitating the plant’s Reliability Team and helping foster the use of Highly Reliable Organization (HRO) principles within the unit.

  • Representing the facility in the business reliability teams and initiatives.

  • Identifying key learning with significant value and leverage across the business reliability network.

  • Serve as Reliability Subject Matter Expert and when needed, uses reliability engineering principles and tools (Weibull, FMEA) to identify and eliminate negative reliability trends and equipment performance.

  • Assists maintenance representatives and project teams to design reliability, availability, and maintainability into new plants and equipment systems using GPM work process discipline.

  • Evaluates effectiveness of individual aspects of the PPM program by showing quantitatively the impact of failures and Predictive Preventive Maintenance (PPM).

  • Optimizes PPM activities, on an on-going basis, to support overall productivity improvements.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking

  • A minimum of 3 years of reliability, engineering, manufacturing or related experience

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process
