Emerson Sr. Manager (2-year contract) in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea

Job Summary:

They are responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of assigned MAC/ MIV projects. They will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet defined expectations. They will lead individuals BU PM assigned for specific MAC /MIV project and is the liaison between all applicable parties.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Establish professional relationships with customers and ensure focus on understanding customer needs and solving of customer problems to improve customer satisfaction.

  • Manage overall projects with multiple product lines in the scope and multiple implementation teams from Emerson Business Units to meet and/or exceed customer’s specifications, project schedules, financial goals, and quality standards.

  • Ensure achievement of profit margin forecast for assigned projects.

  • Serve as a responsive focal point of MAC / MIV contact for customers, suppliers, and internal staff for assigned projects.

  • Be responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling of project activities and schedules.

  • Ensure the project scope include all work required, and only the work required, to complete the project successfully.

  • Attend regular project liaison meetings organized by EPC and Owner

  • Generate comprehensive project progress reporting.

  • Organize the purchase of equipment, material and services in a timely and cost-effective manner based on the contractual schedule and project specifications.

  • Be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and responding to risk that are likely to affect the projects.

  • Ensure timely and appropriate generation, collection, dissemination, storage, and ultimate disposition of project information.

  • Ensure good project management standards and practices are always implemented, including material procurement, project implementation. phase, up to the successful commissioning of the project at customer site.

  • Be responsible for estimating and securing adequate and competence resources for each project.

  • Monitor and control the financial status (EAC, cost budgets, milestone, payments) and performance of the project, and report forecasting to the management.

  • Identify and resolve changes across the entire project and negotiation of change order with customers/suppliers.

  • Anticipate timely on important potential risks (technical or others) on projects.

  • Establish and execute detailed plans to ensure that risks are mitigated, and opportunities are realized.

  • Ensure timely completion and close-out of project based on contractual requirement, including resolution of any open items.

  • Apply applicable EMERSON QA and project management procedures/methods like PMO.

  • Prepare sub-contract strategy, select sub-contractors, and manage sub-contractor schedule, quality-of-work and releasing of payment based on actual completion of sub-contractor’s scope of work.

  • Provide coordination and Monitoring of site work activities on installation supervision and plant commissioning with service organization to ensure that projects are properly closed out.

  • Report relevant new business opportunities to account manager.

  • Work with sales (on request) to ensure that project proposals are supported with proposal deliverables e.g., risk/opportunity, estimate, project plan, planning.

  • Provide sales support on both engineering and commercial issues for MAC/MIV projects.

  • Continuously enhance existing project management practices / processes to improve productivity and profitability for MAC/MIV Projects

  • Manage and supervise multiple project teams at entry, senior and principal levels.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Degree in Engineering or other related fields.

  • Over 10 years of experience in process control systems and project management.

  • Solid people management skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.

  • Strong leadership, organizational and planning skills.

  • Knowledge of commercial and financial issues.

  • Excellent analytical skills and result oriented.

  • Decisive, drive and ability to deliver effective, innovative solutions.

  • Proven skills in the use of project tools and techniques.

  • Willing to travel for assigned projects.
