JOB PURPOSE:

As an Operations Team Leader at Griffin Logistics Center - Support at Caterpillar Inc. you will be responsible for new hire orientation training related to PQVC format in Griffin logistics operations. In addition to process improvement/training with standard work throughout facilities.

Responsibilities :

  • Leading 4-8 team members

  • Working with customer on shipping velocity RTS

  • RTS collaboration with customer

  • Forklift training

  • SULU training

  • New and current employees safety coaching

  • WorkDay required learning owner

  • Teaching new hire training curriculum

  • Provide resolution for assigned Continuous Improvement (CI) cards

  • Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.

Required Qualifications

  • Possess a high degree of initiative

  • Time management skills

  • Must be a team motivator and work well in a team environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Proficient in computer skills

  • Self-starter motivated towards continuous improvement

  • Experience interpreting prints and assembly planning documentation

  • Flexibility to work 3rd shift hours when needed for training responsibilities (Monday-Thursday 7:30pm-6:00am)

  • Occasionally lift parts up to 50 pounds individually and infrequently up to 100 pounds as a team

  • Occasional bending, reaching and squatting while performing tasks

  • Consistent usage of required PPE for task being performed

  • Standing and/or sitting at a desk while performing tasks

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent work ethic, attitude, and people skills

  • Working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power point, and Access

Position details:

  • Hiring for 1st Shift: Monday- Thursday (6:30am to 5:00pm)

  • Starting pay of $21.27/hour

  • Quarterly bonus up to 12%

  • 6% 401K match
