Job Description:

The Lead Program Manager is responsible for directing the daily tasks and ongoing administrative functions of the program initiatives adhering to contractual obligations and subsequent reporting on program initiatives from inception to completion. These programs involve coordination with US Government and commercial partnerships. The Program Manager is responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of assigned programs, proposals, and pursuits by leading cross functional teams including Program Management, Engineering, Operations, Contracts, Legal, Finance, Quality, Security, and others. Program Managers are expected to demonstrate team building, leadership, and communication skills by building relationships of trust with their teams, customers, peers, and leadership, and to effectively communicate with confidence, including regular presentations and status updates to leadership. In addition, a Lead PM must participate in and lead enterprise solutions projects (Continuous improvements), driving better business results though a dynamic business environment.

Essential Functions:

  • The candidate will be responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of programs or subsystems of major programs.

  • Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.

  • Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.

  • Acts as primary customer contact for Recon program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.

  • Utilize Earned Value Management System (EVMS) methodology and tools to plan and execute programs, including identification and mitigation of cost, schedule, and technical risks.

  • Effectively balance program plans, risks, and opportunities with executable strategies to meet requirements on budget.

  • Lead meetings and reviews, tracking resulting action items to closure.

  • Comprehend complex program and interdependencies and be able to provide clear consistent priorities to supporting teams.

  • Manage multiple programs at any one time with the ability to multi-task and communicate on a daily basis for status reporting.

  • Logically analyze problems to seek understanding of the root cause of the problem, including broad-based consideration of relevant variables.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

  • Ability to travel on occasion and as needed (25%)

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel.

  • High level of attention to detail.

  • In concert with Integrated Program Team (IPT) establishes business concepts, criteria, and critical tasks to ensure contract meets/ exceeds operational and financial goals.

  • Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems, and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.

  • Coordinates the work of the Functional Group with Project Engineering and Functional Group Managers assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing, and administrative areas.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of aircraft experience and/or education.

  • Previous aerospace or production operations experience is highly desirable.

  • Ability to manage multiple and competing deadlines.

  • Must be able to work directly and professionally with the Customer, Company Sr Management, and all Functional Groups.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to conduct briefings to Sr Management.

  • Must be able to work individually, as well as have a strong sense of teamwork.

  • Minimal travel is required.

  • Qualified applicant will possess excellent managerial and leadership skills.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance accesses which requires US citizenship. Active clearance preferred.

  • Engineering/Sustainment, Planning, Procurement, Material Program Management, or Manufacturing background is beneficial.

  • Experience managing programs or projects within DoD Big Safari environment.

  • Knowledge of existing L3H processes, tools, and operations

  • Knowledge of proposal development process

  • Experience with entire MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
