Position Description

The goal of the Product Marketing Manager is to increase part sales and profitability year over year with a focus on their assigned product category. This is accomplished by working closely with GTP (Purchasing), GTT (Engineering), SML (Logistics), and Part Sales and Marketing, and others to create and implement a multi-year product strategy. In support of this goal you will work directly with the Marketing team to develop and deploy marketing collateral, present products in various webinars, provide training to the sales team, and represent the aftermarket in various forums.

The Product Marketing Manager will analyze our product offer and employ market research and sales team feedback to identify opportunities to expand the product portfolio to fulfill our lifecycle strategy. You are responsible to maintain the supplier relationships and to make adjustments as needed to maintain a product portfolio which exceeds the needs of our customers.

What you will do

• Maintain open lines of communication with our dealers to identify opportunities for portfolio growth and expansion as well as needs for training and information

• Develop a 3 year product strategy based on price/value analysis, market research, and our lifecycle offer

• Revise the strategy as needed to adapt to market changes

• Identify gaps in our product portfolio and bring them to market (Supplier sourcing, price positioning, new product launches, marketing collateral creation and maintenance)

• Utilize market analysis to develop annual business plans for assigned product categories

• Work with the sales team to develop sales targets at region and dealer level

• Develop and execute an annual marketing plan for assigned product categories

• Develop and maintain a lifecycle strategy for each product category

• Track and report product line revenue and profitability for Genuine, All Makes and Road Choice segments

• Provide support to the marketing and communications team to create marketing collateral - including e-commerce and social

• Prepare dealer bulletins when necessary

• Work directly with the pricing and sales teams to ensure our pricing strategy is in line with the market

• Collaborate with the VDSP support team to ensure product availability and issue resolution

• Plan with our suppliers for wholesale and retail promotions

• Make necessary adjustments to achieve agreed upon targets

• Collaborate with Spare Parts Engineering to guarantee the parts offer meets the needs of the customer

• Provide market expertise to various projects, stakeholders, negotiations and other discussions

• Vet new suppliers with purchasing team to ensure high quality partners

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing (or comparable)

• MBA with Marketing focus preferred or equivalent experience

Preferred Experience and Knowledge:

• Five years of marketing, business development or account management experience, preferably in the automotive or heavy-duty trucking industry

• Knowledge of brand strategies and ability to comprehend and create action plans that deliver growth

• Project management experience

• Strong data analysis skills and financial acumen.

• Minimal travel required
