Clinicians serving our legally involved clients will work at the fascinating intersection of multiple community, legal, and medical systems to support their client s behavioral health needs. This dynamic work allows the clinician to develop an advanced understanding of the judicial process and how State and federal laws influence a person s mental health recovery. Those interested in this position will be exposed to clients in need of trauma therapy, substance use treatment, and mental health support and this position is eligible for additional licensure or certification in substance use
Duties Performed: Provide person-centered assessment, goal planning, and treatment for mental health and/or substance use issues. Provide screening, intakes, and assessment of clients utilizing required instruments and formats within appropriate timelines. Develop strength-based written treatment plans/updates and continuing care plans and make appropriate referrals. Complete written discharge summaries and correspondence within established timelines. Observe clients in a variety of situations. Assess diagnosis and mental status of clients, evaluate current level of functioning, and develop and implement treatment/service plan to address clients needs. Intervene and de-escalate crises with clients. Provide crisis intervention via telephone or face-to-face in a variety of settings that may include crisis walk-in services, mobile on-site services, residential settings, etc. Assess the risk of harm to self or others and arrange needed resources. Collaborate with other clinicians, law enforcement, external providers, and psychiatrists to provide services to clients. Maintain close and cooperative relationships with community agencies and other public agencies in carrying out treatment/service plans. Collaborate continuously with assigned clients to devise safety planning, rovide symptom management, identify support systems, and reduce and mitigate risk factors. May deliver services to clients in their homes or other settings in the community.
