As a Freight Scheduler, you will:

  • Schedule and communicate freight pick up, according to schedule and shipment dates, ensuring on-time delivery to customers
  • Work with the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to provide daily guidance to the team, scheduling and communicating daily work
  • Update the schedule board, print off documents, and monitor all loads
  • Ensure proper packaging, staging, and loading of all products shipped
  • Review shipment routes and freight assignments to ensure accuracy and maximum savings
  • Investigate and communicate all issues and errors, completing necessary steps for correction
  • Effectively communicate issues and errors with internal teams, working together for resolution
  • Assist with the picking, packaging, and staging of products for shipment
  • Assist in loading shipments accurately, using appropriate equipment
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement projects and events
  • Cross-train in all functions of the Shipping and Receiving department
  • Demonstrate a willingness to help outside the department when instructed
  • Additional related duties, as assigned

  • Have a HS Diploma or equivalent, with the ambition to further education
  • Have prior experience scheduling freight shipments and using an RF scanner (desired)
  • Have 1-3 years of material handling experience, with a general understanding of distribution
  • Have the ability to obtain a hi-lo and picker license
