Job Title: Cattle Procurement Logistics Specialist.

Location: Grand Island, NE.

Job description: The Cattle Procurement Logistics Specialist is primarily responsible for scheduling cattle for JBS Grand Island location. The Logistics Specialist will communicate with various feed yards, cattle buyers, and trucking companies to ensure a consistent flow of cattle into the plant during production hours. Additionally, the logistics specialist will work with multiple computer systems to track inventory, enter cattle purchases, and assist in data management.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring pickup and delivery of cattle in Grand Island, NE

  • Coordinate plant harvest schedule with beef plant, cattle procurement, and independent haulers.

  • Schedule deliveries of cattle to the plant from multiple feed yards.

  • Communicate pick up times and dates with feed yards.

  • Continuously work on improving the cattle delivery process and reducing truck wait times.

  • Work with cattle buyers on entering purchase information into the Cattle Procurement System.

  • Communicate with the cattle payables department to relay payment instructions and other critical information.

  • Create and execute scheduling contingency plans for when the harvest schedule is disrupted.

  • Assist in checking payments and imputing data into the Cattle Procurement System.

  • Generate reports related to cattle being received, truck wait times and delivery process.

  • Remain accessible during non-working hours to resolve logistics issues.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma (undergraduate degree preferred).

  • Ability to logically problem solve.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and computer inventory systems.

  • Willingness to learn new computer and database systems.

  • Motivation to continuously improve current systems and procedures.

  • Works well and remains calm under pressure.

  • Communicates clearly across multiple teams, suppliers, and cattle haulers.

  • Ability to work full days and with early morning (5:30 AM) start times OR as needed.
