If you love providing excellent service to patients and families while at the same time facilitating important duties in support of providers, this position may be for you. In this role you'll ensure that both patients and providers get what they need to promote the best care experience possible. This position will support a variety of providers in our Golden Valley location. This position's primary responsibility is to coordinate the care of patients from check-in to check-out as outlined by provider instructions. Facilitates priority communications between patients and providers by processing messages that come in via phone, portal, web, chat and/or fax. Performs prior authorizations on behalf of patients for medications and some procedures. Greets patients warmly and scans outside records the patient may bring to the visit. Following the visit, performs the check-out process including making additional appointments (diagnostic testing and follow up appointments) and coordinating provider orders as appropriate. Sends summary of care to outside providers. Monitors provider schedules to confirm all information is available for upcoming patient visits. This position's hours are Monday - Thursday (32 hours/week), 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or Monday - Friday (40 hours/week) Position Requirements Education and Experience: High School graduate or GED equivalent. Medical Administrative degree helpful. At least one year of previous medical office experience, preferably in an outpatient clinic setting. Experience with prior authorizations/insurance is highly desired. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to support multiple providers and priorities, meeting deadlines and troubleshooting/resolving issues as needed. Patient centered; strong customer service orientation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to be organized, work independently, exhibit mature judgment and make sound decisions. Accurate and precise reading and writing skills. Strong command of the English language; good spelling/grammar. Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10/CPT coding. Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost judgment and discretion. Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Proficiency with electronic health records, preferably Epic.
