If you are an experienced maintenance professional with a knowledge of HVAC repair, problem solving, and customer service, this opportunity is for you! * *Team Impact In this position, you will have primary oversight of maintaining, repairing, and inspecting heat, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment and systems throughout the hospital. You will be helping to keep our organization in optimal working condition by performing a range of maintenance assignments, using independent judgment to make decisions requiring the application of procedures and practices to specific work situations. Throughout these assignments, you will be counted on to ensure the compliance of all hospital policies and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules while providing exception customer service to various stakeholders through the organization. The Glens Falls Hospital Impact Mission * * Our Mission is to improve the health of people in our region by providing access to exceptional, affordable, and patient-centered care every day and in every setting. * * * *How You Will Fulfill Your Potential * * Responsibilities * This position responds to scheduled and non-scheduled service response calls for a variety of tasks that will require, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other skills * Service areas for this position include (but are not limited to) the Main Campus building and our offsite offices/buildings. * This includes (but is not limited to) mechanical spaces, Boiler Rooms, CSR, Kitchen, and Laundry. Exceptional customer service and professionalism are necessary to successfully represent the GFH Engineering Department to our patients, visitors and staff. Education/Experience: · High school diploma or equivalent. · 2 year trade school education, or 5 years’ experience, in a HVAC, R mechanical and/or trade related to facilities operation and maintenance. Experience as a maintenance technician in a healthcare, industrial or manufacturing environment may be considered. Skills/Abilities: * Demonstrated aptitude in one or more facility trade; mechanical, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, or plumbing. * Mechanical aptitude, demonstrated through on-the-job and educational activities. * Ability to safely and properly use hand and power tools, electrical meters and test equipment as well as maintenance lubricants, solvents and other industrial chemicals. * Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under minimal supervision. * Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents/bulletins. * Computer skills required. Ability to accurately and descriptively document all completed work, order materials, etc. * Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written. * Strong customer service skills.
