The Broward County Convention Center is undergoing an exciting time of change and growth with new shows booking and a +$1bn expansion nearing completion in 2025 – this includes a new HQ Hotel, currently the largest ballroom in SE USA, multiple meetings rooms, exhibition hall and a brand-new kitchen leading to a total 1.2 m sqft (under roof) of LEED Gold-certified space across the campus.
The Savor F&B team has a need for a dynamic and experienced Bar Manager, to grow with the facility, with responsibilities for operations including Banquets, Retail/Concessions & Bars.
Responsible for the daily activities required to run, maintain, and service the overall accurate service and accounting of all transactions of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including inventory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains accurate accounting of all cash and inventory on assigned bar.
Performs location worker assignments.
Maintains safe working conditions and sanitary work area for employees.
Plans for daily sales flow based on projections.
Plans for peak hour sales and makes change requirements known to Manager.
Organizes all paperwork for cashier responsibilities.
Physical inventories stand sheet.
Cash slips
Verifies the proper item prices to the beverage menu.
Maintains accurate cash handling procedures at all times.
Performs location worked duties as assigned.
Follows all rules and regulations of Food and Beverage.
Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Overseeing that all operations of the bar run smoothly including main bar and catering bar.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Oversees supervision of hourly staff.
Helps to develop and implement appropriate SOPs and training programs.
Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM GLOBAL's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Work Contacts
- Daily contact with the Food & Beverage Director, Operations/Sales/Culinary and Stewarding teams within F&B as well as Event Services and Utilities (and others as needed) for daily operations.

Education and/or Experience
High school graduate or equivalent.
Three plus years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum three years of management experience in a food and beverage facility. servicing concessions, catering, and special events, or a similar venue.
Skills and Abilities
Strong orientation to customer service and ability to collaborate with other staff members in the facility.
Results oriented individual with the ability to meet required budgetary goals.
Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and inter-personal skills.
Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.
Strong written, verbal, and people skills.
Communicates efficiently and effectively. (Bilingual – English/Spanish – a plus)Demonstrated ability to control costs.
Demonstrated ability to control costs, generate increased revenue and manage accounts payable/receivable and financial reporting.
Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Must have basic working knowledge of cash handling procedures.
Must have sufficient math ability to accurately count money and make change quickly.
Must have basic working knowledge of concession/cafeteria operation.
Must have ability to follow directions and effectively perform the work.
Working Conditions
Works throughout the building. Subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight.
Substantial walking and manual dexterity to operate equipment is required.
Varies by show to include days, nights, weekdays, and weekends.
Must have ability to remain stationary for periods of up to 5 hours.
Must have ability to bend and stoop.
