Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Staff - Public role within the CPA industry based in Fresno, California. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing federal tax consulting and compliance services in a public accounting setting. The role involves dealing with high net-worth individual tax returns and business tax returns, utilizing tax software and technology.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver a range of federal tax consulting and compliance services in a public accounting environment

• Handle business tax returns and high net-worth individual tax returns

• Utilize tax software and technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency

• Conduct thorough research on specific technical issues as required

• Plan work effectively to meet set deadlines and maintain control over all aspects of the engagement

• Communicate technical issues to clients and staff effectively

• Identify additional client services opportunities with current clients

• Develop and maintain a network for practice development opportunities

• Work independently and as part of a team to solve complex problems

• Utilize analytical, technical, tax accounting, and project management skills to deliver high-quality services to clients

• Manage and develop staff in a highly interactive team environment

• Provide exceptional client service and maintain outstanding client relationships

• Be willing to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites.

Requirements

• Possess a minimum of three years' experience in a CPA firm or similar setting.

• Demonstrated proficiency in using CCH ProSystem Fx.

• Proven ability to analyze financial statements in a detailed and accurate manner.

• Experience in preparing partnership tax returns.

• Knowledge of tax planning strategies to optimize client's tax position.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

• Must be a certified public accountant or working towards certification.

• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Detail-oriented, with strong follow-up skills.

• High level of integrity and professionalism.

• Ability to maintain client confidentiality.
