Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Carrier Relations Assistant to join our client's dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support and assist in managing relationships with carriers, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the overall success of the Carrier Relations Department.

Position Overview:

As a Carrier Relations Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and managing relationships with carriers, insurance companies, and agents. You will be responsible for monitoring and verifying insurance, researching carrier history, managing daily overrides, and assisting in the smooth operation of the carrier relations process. This is a hands-on role requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor daily overrides by all staff and ensure proper follow-up.

• Communicate regularly with external insurance companies, agents, and carriers to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.

• Request exclusions and property coverage details from insurance agencies.

• Monitor email rejections from load scopes and respond accordingly.

• Solicit new carriers and assess their qualifications for potential partnerships.

• Research carrier histories, safety records, and insurance compliance.

• Retrieve faxes and emails and update information in the system as directed.

• Verify insurance coverage for all new and reinstated carriers, ensuring compliance.

• Analyze MC checks and provide immediate responses regarding carrier qualification and necessary documentation for reinstatement.

• Maintain and update the CSA and Contract Log, ensuring all decisions and contract amendments are logged.

• Run and analyze reports, including CW-Assign,.

• Enter available trucks each morning as they are submitted via email.

• Address pending insurance expirations and ensure timely follow-up.

• Prepare carrier lists for internal departments as requested.

• Assist in entering new carrier contracts as needed.

• Stay current on state and federal regulations impacting the transportation industry.

• Send hand-written thank-you notes monthly to all new carriers as a part of relationship-building efforts.

• Collaborate with other divisions on projects as assigned by management.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in the transportation or logistics industry is preferred.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

• Ability to quickly adapt to new software and systems.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.

• Familiarity with insurance terminology and processes is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• This is a sedentary role performed at a desk, requiring regular computer and phone usage.

• The ability to communicate verbally and in writing is essential.
