Where the chemistry happens…

This is a position for a PD/QA Laboratory Technician to support the Acrylic Monomers, Oxo Alcohols and CM Intermediates Business Unit Production Areas of the Freeport Site.

During your shift as a Laboratory Technician, you will

• Releasing of product, generate the required Certificate of Analysis (COAs).

• Developing methods for a variety of instruments.

• Following established quality, safety and environmental procedures and policies.

• Authoring and/or updating procedures.

• Operating Lab instruments and equipment in a safe and professional manner.

• Maintaining Lab equipment, ensuring adequate Lab supply inventories, conducting instrument calibrations/checks, etc.

• Maintaining QA area in a safe, neat, clean, and organized manner.

• Working with various departments to manage the Quality Assurance process to fulfill customers' requirements as well as process development projects.

• Contributing ideas that improve the safety, efficiency and/or the overall effectiveness of the laboratories and their team.

• Working with SAP to manage lab and shipping data.

• Participating in monthly safety meetings and make presentations.

• Working with a diverse team including lab analysts, production, and logistics to ensure the best overall result for BASF.

If you...

• High School Diploma or GED.

• 3 years of chemical laboratory experience.

• Experience in a production environment.

• Self-driven with high degree of initiative and time management skills.

• Must have high standards of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail. Good written and communication skills and strong problem-solving skills.

• Must be highly organized, flexible, and capable of adapting to priority changes on a regular basis.

• Good mechanical aptitude.

• Experience with the following instrumentation: titration, GC, HPLC, TOC, and wet analysis.

• Quality Assurance experience – knows the various tests that are run as this position will also serve as a Trainer.

• SAP Quality Management experience.

• Computer skills (Microsoft Office) and experience with SAP and Compass CDS software. As well as Mechanical aptitudes.
