Where the chemistry happens…

As an Analyzer Technician Trainee for our Freeport Quality business unit, you will build a meaningful career while supporting BASF’s Lab Services division that maintains and services analyzer systems across the entire site in Freeport, TX.

During your shift as a Analyzer Technician Trainee, you will

• Providing the routine and scheduling maintenance and repair, as well as the preventive maintenance and calibration of Process Analyzers.

• Documenting all appropriate Process Analyzer activities.

• Interacting with Plant Operations to ensure that the plants analytical needs are met.

• Supporting EHS in compliance with all environmental, safety, and health requirements while promoting a safe working environment.

• Working in a team with other analyzer technicians to perform routine, extraordinary, and turnaround activities.

• Adhering to high standards of productivity, quality, teamwork, housekeeping, and safety.

• Tracking and updating assigned tasks in maintenance management system on a regular basis.

• Be available for maintenance on-call.

• May be required to working with and around materials that are considered hazardous by OSHA using personal protective equipment as necessary.

• Complying with all company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices.

If you have...

• A High school diploma or GED required.

• One year of craft experience required (preferably as an analyzer technician).

• An AAS Degree in Electronics, Electricity or Instrumentation preferred.

• Experience in the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of online process analyzers.

• The ability to read and update electrical and instrument documents such as schematics, specifications, P&IDs and one-line diagrams.

• Good working knowledge of chemical plant equipment and technologies. As well as good oral and written communication skills. And good personal computer skills and knowledge.

• Demonstrated math, reading and problem-solving skills. And demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
