We have an excellent opportunity available for an Investment Controller for our Frankfurt office. You will play an integral role within the German Finance Team, providing finance and tax advice to our Asset, Transaction and Portfolio Management Teams in executing strategy and supporting investment growth. Closely collaborate with Tax Advisors, Lawyers and Reporting teams. Among your responsibilities assisting in the preparation of Corporate Budgets and Forecasts as well as ad hoc financial analysis are to be expected. In this role you will report directly to Chief Financial Officer Germany/Head of Financial Operations EMEA.

Your main tasks and responsibilities

Real Estate specific:

  • Supervision and active support during the transaction process (Acquisitions/Disposals) of the real estate properties (asset deals) or real state companies (share deals) during the acquisition and financial and tax due diligence process;

  • Active support of the transaction team in the deal structuring, financial structuring (internal and external loans);

  • Preparation of financial step plans to ensure funding and monitor post-closing items;

  • Support CFO in preparation and negotiation of loan agreements with external lenders and monitor covenants;

  • Ensure tax compliance of investment structures, such as CIT, interest deductibility, tax loss carryforwards;

  • Assist Asset Management in asset budget and forecasting procedures;

  • Monitor performance of assets, such as NOI and IRR;

  • Monitor cash flow and provide recommendations for up- and downstreams/distributions.

Corporate Finance:

  • Review of the monthly reporting prepared by the centralized Corporate Finance Team in Amsterdam;

  • Assist in the coordination of the preparation of the Statutory Annual Accounts and Yearly Tax Declarations;

  • Responsible for the administration of the Corporate File.

What do you have to offer us?

  • University, Master’s degree or Bachelor's degree preferred with or any similar combination of education in real estate;

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position ideally gained within a real estate (or investment management) setting and proven exposure to the German real estate market;

  • Experience in an international working environment;

  • Solid knowledge of German GAAP and IFRS accounting standards as well as basic knowledge in German taxation;

  • Good analytical and quantitative skills;

  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to learn and operate industry specific databases and software;

  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task, work in cross-functional teams, perform under short time frames, perform efficient resource planning, establish and maintain internal and external professional relationships and prioritize workload;

  • Self-confidence, high level of commitment, team spirit and flexibility;

  • Fluent (written and spoken) in German and English.
