BAE Systems Flight Solutions Program Manager in Fort Worth, Texas

Job Description

As an employee working in the Flight Solutions team, you will be a key member of the Program Management workforce managing one or more programs/projects related to our aviation lines of business. The Flight Solutions Team is seeing growth opportunities that are driving demands for experienced Program Manager professionals. We have multiple areas with needs including large aircraft modification programs, logistics support contracts and significant engineering projects utilizing model based systems engineering. Experience managing USG contracts in these areas is a key enabler for this role

Key Responsibilities

The position is responsible for program execution as well as revenue, profit, budgetary planning and forecasting, setting strategy and growth of the Product Line.

Oversee multiple projects and contracts to include: working with hiring managers managing teams; organizing, planning and executing work; and controlling program schedules and budgets.

As the key interface with the customer, external communication skills are key to successfully developing the relationships required for program execution and future work

Lead Program Teams and facilitate the communication and interaction among project and task managers and staff.

Develop bid and teaming strategies, to include themes, discriminators, tech and management approach and price to win for recompetes and new opportunities.

Coordinate with customers to provide necessary program status and obtain customer feedback.

Recommend and lead efforts to improve existing processes to improve quality.

Track program against its schedule, budget and phase review objectives, reporting status to management on a monthly basis and executive staff on a monthly basis.

Resolve personnel issues and/or performance problems amongst program team members.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Key Competencies / Experience

Education Bachelors degree in Business or Finance and 8 years of experience in a business environment preferably working in a project support or project management role on USG contracted aviation development programs

First-hand program management experience with a track record of:

  • Successful delivery to time / cost / quality constraints

  • Customer relationship management

  • Directing both project management and delivery teams

  • Effective reporting of project performance to both senior management and the customer

  • Working in a highly complex and politically sensitive environment

  • Strong communication skills are required both internally and externally

  • Proficient at stakeholder management and the establishment of effective working relationships

  • Ability to lead and coach a team in support of a high performance culture

  • Ability to work in a high pressured, multi-disciplined environment

  • Self-starter and capable of working independently

  • Management of design and development programs is highly preferred

PMP certification desired but not required

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $115100 - $195700

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
