What You Will Do

Stryker is looking for a software manager with a breadth of knowledge in system integrations, a background in software engineering, and a passion for bringing technologies together to solve customer needs. In this position, you will manage a talented and growing software development team along with the scalability, longevity, and durability of relevant product releases. You’ll define your team’s products by partnering with upstream and downstream portfolio teams, the end-to-end testing team, customer support, professional services, DevOps, and escalations engineering.

  • You will provide people leadership and personal development to the Integration Development software team.

  • You will promote and establish good engineering practices within an Agile Software Development process.

  • You will analyze customer issues and challenges, working closely with cross-functional teams to provide effective solutions.

  • You will proactively identify potential issues and implement preventive measures to enhance customer satisfaction.

  • You will collaborate with other product teams to define flexible, maintainable, APIs across on-premise and cloud-hosted systems.

  • You will work with the Regulatory and Quality teams to ensure products perform to Stryker quality standards and meet government requirements.

  • You will establish schedules and monitor progress against intermediate and final development targets.

  • You will manage delivery of products, documentation, and support to multiple internal and external customers.

Technical / Managerial Responsibilities:

  • You will execute a robust talent offense by attracting, developing, retaining, and engaging top talent while driving personal/professional growth of individuals, the team and delivering high quality results with passion, energy and drive.

  • You will proactively drive positive outcomes to technical, business, and personnel problems.

  • You will make decisions under guidance for project level issues.

  • You will leverage strong listening skills and written / verbal communication to influence and convey business, regulatory compliance, and/or technical ideas to customers, employees, peers, external partners, and senior leaders.

  • You will support a culture of diversity, inclusion, and belonging at a team level in hiring and staff development.

  • You will lead projects and initiatives within the business unit, with responsibility for planning, budgeting, meeting project goals and adequately staffing with talent.

  • You will support and mentor others in complex cooperative efforts across cross-functional teams, influencing one's own technical areas of expertise and building key relationships, to drive innovation and ensure achievement of business goals.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field required

  • 8+ years of experience required.

  • 2+ years of leadership experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

(You do not need to have ALL of these)

  • Demonstrated experience building teams and showing strong leadership, hiring and developing talent, vision to inspire and excite team, and management of performance.

  • Experience or certification in SAFe and/or Scrum Agile.

  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.

  • Knowledge of common networking and messaging protocols including TCP, UDP, SOAP, REST.

  • Familiarity with hospital-related clinical communication and collaboration a strong plus

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skill.

  • Some travel, including international, will be needed.
